Tata Group Sets Up Semiconductor Test Unit - $300 Million

Tata group talks to set up semiconductor assembly and test unit late next year. Tata group talks about investing $ 300 million in one of the states among Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana.

It will be an Outsourced semiconductor assembly (OSAT) plant that will be Imported silicon wafers and turn into finished semiconductor chips. India is facing a crisis for a long time in semiconductor assembly and test units. Tata motor also said it will be the one more step to the advancement in manifesting and technology after a vision of Indian clear energy transition plant. The prime minister of India stated the “Make in India” mission to develop and improve the quality and production of India.

Tata is planning to create one more electronic manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. The critical parts of mobiles will be created in the electronic manufacturing plant. Recently, the prime minister of India speaks about semiconductor manufacturing plants. It is being assumed that the tata group will get a great profit and growth in this project. But it will depend on which country and how much profit will get tata group. Tata has become the second country in mobile manufacturing that’s why tata will engage more people to get success in this plan and maintain its position in computation with other companies.

Importance of Semiconductor chip

Semiconductor chips are very important for CPUs, smartphones, mobile phones, washing machines, refrigerators, etc. India is the second-largest country in the number of people so, its need and requirement are high. That’s why to solve this problem production of semiconductor chips will not only give job opportunities to people but also the complete requirement of people. Tata has always proved and done many works which support the Indian government. The prime minister of India showed his concern about semiconductor assembly and test units. Tata motors are known for their motors, truck, and electronic products. In this support of Narendra Modi‘s concern, it will be helpful for the Indian economy.

A great boost up in the “Make in India” mission

The Prime minister of Indian Narendra Modi when came to the central government and took the responsibility of India to digitalization he introduced the “Make in India” plan. There were some objectives of the “Make in India” mission to increase the growth rate of the manufacturing sector’s 12 to 14%. è 100 million manufacturing jobs opportunities at the end of 2022 è the contribution of the manufacturing sector will be 25% by 2025.

Outsourced semiconductor assembly and test plants will be a boost in fulfilling the objectives of the “Make in India” plan. It will generate many job opportunities for Indian youth. OSAT Plant will give chance to the foreign company to invest in India which will be a great boost in manufacturing sectors and its growth rate. But it will not create 100 million manufacturing job opportunities and growth rate of the manufacturing sector’s 12 to 14%. To get a big achievement or goal small step is very important which give us motivation and encouragement to get big goals. It doesn’t mean if any private or government is taking initial of it both will contribute of the manufacturing sector and opening doors of opportunities.

Tota group is about to launch electronic manufacturing sectors. The major parts of India will develop India with the help of the Indian people. Those people who live in villages and don’t have money to fulfill their needs and as we know due to covid 19 many people have lost their job. Employment is a very big issue in India. The Indian government is taking many steps to solve this problem but still, the Indian government is not able to solve it. These some miner steps will help to these types of major issues. The “Make in India” Mission will be covered after the implementation of this project.

Impact of semiconductor assembly and test unit on people

The impact of semiconductor assembles and test units will be beneficial for not only people but also the Indian government’s economy. In today’s era, all the products and equipment are related to technology and machines which require semiconductors for functioning properly. Most people do their work on the computer and know the benefits of smartphone for their work. Even due to Covid 19, people have shifted work from home (WFH). If we don’t have enough semiconductor production in India so, people have too much money and import from other countries which will impact our economic states and growth of manufacturing sectors.

Tata group has already set examples in automotive, communications, healthcare, and broadcast services which refers to one more mission of Indian to get rid of semiconductor assembly and test unit problems. outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) plant packages, assembling and turning them into a semiconductor chip. Tata group shared the location for manufacturing factories. This project will start by the end of next year and give around 4,000 job opportunities for people.
